How do I set my plan effective date and open enrollment dates?

Here's how to choose when your benefits become active, set your new hire waiting period, and understand when your employees will receive their ID cards.

During the benefits setup wizard, you'll choose the dates that govern when your benefits go live and when employees can enroll.

Effective date

  • Select the 1st of the month when you want benefits to become active — only the first of each eligible future month can be selected

  • Once you select a date, the system automatically displays:

    • Open Enrollment Period — the window during which employees can complete their enrollment

    • Physical Card Delivery — estimated 7–10 business days after the effective date

    • Digital cards are delivered on the effective date itself

New hire waiting period

Select how many days a new hire must wait before becoming eligible for benefits:

  • Immediate (Day 1)

  • 30 days

  • 60 days

  • 90 days

Click Continue to save your dates and move to the next step.

Setting up add-on plans only? If you're adding add-on plans without health insurance, you'll select an Addon Availability Date instead of a plan effective date. Open enrollment and card delivery details won't apply.
